Sunroof Repairs

With over 90 years combined experience installing and repairing numerous different OEM and aftermarket sunroof models, we’re confident we can diagnose and repair most issues.

  • Currently, the only single-panel inbuilt power sunroofs available aftermarket are from Signature. However, it is sometimes possible to find parts for other models no longer in production.

  • OEM parts can be difficult to locate, depending on how old the model is. Sometimes parts for older models can be located at junk yards or on Ebay. Additionally, parts that can be purchased through the dealer are expensive.

While we do our best, we may not be able to readily locate parts for your roof. If this is the case, you can always find and bring in the parts needed and then we can repair your roof.

  • We have successfully repaired numerous malfunctioning retracting sunshades for panoramic sunroofs. We are also able to change out the front (moving) glass panel in a panoramic roof. Due to the larger size and extra weight, repairs for panoramic sunroofs are more expensive than single panel sunroofs.

While we can usually diagnose the issue, we are unable to remove/replace the rear (static) panel in a panoramic sunroof because of the adhesive used to attach it to the frame. We have heard some individuals have found success at a glass shop when the rear panel is the issue.

  • We do not install spoiler-style sunroofs. We can help diagnose an issue and replace a seal if necessary, but we do not replace defective units.

  • When a sunroof is leaking, people will often come to the conclusion the seal has gone bad. While possible, this happens very rarely. Some other causes of a leaky sunroof could be:

-Drain tubes: can get clogged (especially if you park under a maple tree in the fall), can detach from the assembly, and can even shrink due to age and heat cycles.

-Car washes: taking your vehicle through a carwash exposes the roof to excess wind force from the dryers. Often, this wind will blow water out of where it sits in the drain trough.

  • We frequently see issues where the memory for a one-button control sunroof needs to be reset. If your sunroof will not fully close but is still powered and receiving input from the control module, the memory may need to be reset.

To reset the memory on your one-touch sunroof:

    1. Put the glass in the vent position.

    2. Hold down the vent button ~8 - 10 seconds, until you hear the glass shift slightly. The memory has been reset to the factory settings.

Cycle through all the different positions, ensuring the glass responds as expected.
